The website of the Australian Catholic Historical Society is set up in sections and curates some interesting resources. It provides links to websites, book reviews and other resources, sometimes with illustrations.
One section under the tab “Resources” is called Australian Catholic Architecture, Art, Drama and Music.
Under the heading “Church Interiors and Stained Glass” there are links to St Mary’s Cathedral (Sydney) 1880 windows, and St Patrick’s Cathedral (Melbourne) glass.
Under the rubric “Painting”, one finds references to Justin O’Brien, John Coburn, Roy de Maistre, Arthur Boyd, Salvatore Zofrea, as well as aboriginal artists Karel Kupka and Richard Campbell.
Listed under “Sculpture” are a number of works around Australia depicting Mary MacKillop, as well as statues at St Patrick’s Cathedral, and some work of Tom Bass and Peter Schipperheyn.
